Recap
It all started with a vision.
A vision of something permanent through time, a tradition to cherish and uphold. A golf tournament not only about the game, but about the friendship and atmosphere surrounding it. A well-needed excuse to pause our everyday lives and the hustle and bustle that comes with it. A chance to get away for a few days and only focus on two things: the game of golf, and having a great time.
In the beginning they were four. Four friends collected from different eras of a man's life. Good friends, standing the test of time. The invitation was for two rounds of golf with a one-night overlay, but on the driving range a reveal was made. This wasn't just a few games of recreational golf — this was a tournament. Small in scale, but bold in concept. There were rules and prizes, a custom-made Winners Hat, and a name for the ages: Condor Gilligan Invitational.
The first edition of this tournament went on to be a raging success. On the field, the very much occasional golfer Calle impressed with his irons, and combined with a lot of extra strokes he proved hard to beat. Outside the course we enjoyed the classy facilities of Mauritzberg Manor — a dinner in one of the wings followed by a late night by the grand piano singing Kent and Oasis.
